Why Veelo

VEELO is an EV Leasing Company with a complete focus on solving the EV Adoption problem for Delivery partners. Gig workers in the Delivery Space have grown to almost 1 million strong workforce growing at about 30% YoY basis. This Gig force will spend more than a Billion Dollars worth of Fuel every year while adding almost 2.2 Million Tons of CO2 per year. Veelo has set out to provide EV as a Service to this GIG FORCE with a 100% adoption target.

Why Veelo Started

A simple Scientific fact was the basis of Veelo. Petrol Vehicle is only 13% Efficient but Electric Vehicle is 93% efficient in energy utilisation. That means in the future it is both economically & environmentally sustainable to use, produce & adopt Electric Vehicles.
The problem in using electric vehicles is that new age batteries are heavy and have low mileage. Hence, there is a need to ensure mileage availability to the riders using other methods. Veelo has devised a three-pronged formula for the same i.e. Double Battery + Home Charging + Battery Swapping.

Our Journey & Milestones

2018

Anirudh (Founder) fixes hub-motor + Battery into Driver’s bicycle and finds a satisfied customer.

2019

A small team of passionate like-minded people assemble 50 bicycles with hub-motor + battery for bicycle riders of Zomato in Bhilai Chhattisgarh. Which quickly rises to 200 Bikes.

2020

Veelo is formed with a vision to cater to the Growing needs of the Delivery Partner market in a sustainable & environment friendly way.

2021

Started Battery Swapping model with Indian Make slow speed bikes which grows to 250 Odd fleet by end of 2023.

2022

Experiments with Battery charging + Double Battery models are initiated.

2023

Files Patent for Battery charging Authorisation model which safeguards battery theft and also allows Veelo to collect payments on time.

2024

Begins scaling in Metros with “Battery Swapping + Battery charging authorisation + Double Battery Model” with High-Speed Scooters.
